The Ex Hacienda de El Lencero Museum was a Mexican hacienda, located in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata; it currently functions as a Museum. It was built in 1525 by Juan Lencero, a soldier of Hernán Cortés, after receiving a royal grant. In its beginnings, it functioned as an inn for travelers heading to the port of Veracruz or Mexico City. Years later, the inn diversified its activities, including raising cattle, repairing carriages, pottery, and growing cotton and sugar cane, among other things. It currently works as a museum; it also has furniture, objects and souvenirs typical of the time in which it was built. El Lencero has a road, garages, a colonial chapel and the parish known as "Casa de las Monjas".
