Winston Churchill's statue dominates the southern end of the square, and your guide will explain why the statue is in this special spot. Churchill also addressed the crowds from the balcony of the nearby Ministry Of Health on VE Day. Look up at that balcony and imagine hearing that War in Europe was over.
