Provides a well-organised tour with a local guide Nande Junias that reflects the history of the Mondesa Township. Mondesa was established in the early 1950's to provide housing for blacks working in Swakopmund. The tour is designed as a part of living history, moving from the Owambo areas to those inhabited by Damara and Herero. At each stop a bit of culture, a bit of history and a great deal of laughter are shared. Guests will also get the chance to learn about traditional dress, see a demonstration of mahango preparation, taste some traditional Oshiwambo food and drink, visted the DRC kindergarden and enjoy children dancing. Each customized tour last 2-3 hours with the aim of immersing visitors in township life and introducing people to the local customs and traditions.

This refinery produces a staggering 750,000 tons of salt per year, much of which is exported internationally. It covers an area of 4500 hectares and is in the process of expanding. See massive heaps of salt that looks like snow and bright pink-colored water basins.
