Perito Moreno Glacier & Nautical Safari
The excursion begins with the pick from the hotel 5 hours
The excursion begins with the pick from the hotel. You take the Provincial Road N°11 that connects you to the National Park area, after going through about 75 km. Along the road, you can see different environments: from the Patagonian Steppe to the Magellanic forest, discovering several types of Flora and fauna of the region. On the road, you make two stops: one of them to admire the Argentinean lake, and the other one on the “Curva de los Suspiros” or “Breathtaking Panoramic view”, where you have the first view of the Moreno Glacier. Once in the balconies area, you will have around two hours to walk along them in order to have several views of the Glacier. If you are lucky, you will see pieces of ice falling down and generating an enormous breaking noise. Finishing the visit to the pasarelles, the guide will offer you navigation in front of the south ice wall of the glacier, which is optional and for sure recommended, for being the only chance you can see the Moreno Glacier from the water level, close to the 60 m ice wall. It lasts about 50 minutes, and it is definitely a must-see. Once close to the wall, the ship stops in order for you to take great pictures from there. It operates all year long.
