Itinerary
Tour Itinerary
3:30 AM – Hotel pickup 12 hours
3:30 AM – Hotel pickup. Drive 2.5 hours north of Huaraz, passing through Carhuaz and Shilla, and entering Huascarán National Park. Entrance fee: 30 soles Park at Punto Olimpia. 6:00 AM – Begin hiking along the glacier moraine (~1 hour) until reaching the glacier base, where we will put on crampons, rope up, and start the ascent to the summit (~1 hour). From the top of San Mateo, enjoy views of the remains of the majestic Contrahiervas Mountain and the Cancora Lagoons. Take time to relax and enjoy the scenery before descending the same route. Once back at the vehicle, we will pack up and return to Huaraz. 2:30 PM – Arrival back in Huaraz.
