Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve

Starts from Nairobi. Early by 7 am, our guides will be at your hotel for pick up after your breakfast for a short transfer to Wilson Airport. we will fly for the next 45 minutes to Samburu National Reserve and land safely in Samburu Airstrip. Our ground guides will be ready to welcome and pick you up for a short bush transfer to your lodge. After checking in and rest, we’ll embark on an afternoon game drive along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River (river of brown waters in Samburu language) while looking out for some species rarely seen in other parks and reserves like the gerenuk, also known as the giraffe gazelle - a long-necked that stands on its hind legs to reach foliage, Grevy's zebra, with its finely defined stripes and bushy mane, and reticulated giraffe, with its hide of handsome jigsaw pattern. We may see lions pad across the sandy floodplain of the river or the ever-watchful crocodiles basking in the sun. Dinner and Overnight at samburu serena lodge.

After breakfast you will leave your safari lodge with packed lunch for a full day game viewing Safari experience in Samburu National Reserve. Lunch will be had by the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River while watching different big game and bird species. Afternoon game drives to chance spotting more wild animals. Samburu Game Reserve, a rugged semi desert region in Norther Kenya, is situated along the Ewaso Nyiro River which attracts wildlife from the surrounding dry Savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare wildlife species such as the Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five). After lunch, depart for afternoon game drives.The Mara offers wildlife in such a great variety and abundance that is truly difficult to believe. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded here, you will easily see rhinos, leopard, elephants, buffalo, wildebeests, zebra, warthog, Jackals, lions, many types of antelopes, crocodiles and giraffe. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra from Serengeti (Tanzania). After breakfast, we set off to our airstrip to pick up our flight for Amboseli, flying over The Great Rift Valley. On arrival, our safari guides will be ready to receive & transfer us to the lodge. Arrive for lunch at our booked safari lodge, we will head out on an afternoon game drive before returning for dinner.
