The weather station is located at Austerhaugen. There is also a small beacon, which is still in operation, on this mound. There are several burial mounds on both Kvamsøy and Tjuvholmen, and bus discoveries have been made from both the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, between other parts of a bronze ax.
