In 1540, with the arrival of the encomenderos, the first parish was built to evangelize the aborigines. The parish was built with materials brought from France and Spain, by order of the Cuban engineer FRANCISCO JAVIER SISNEROS. It is one of the highest points in the town from where you can see the intervention of the roofs of the houses that were painted with birds from the area.

Located in the municipality of Usiacurí, with vernacular architecture, built at the end of the 19th century. This house was inhabited by the poet for more than 13 years, considered the best of his life, along with his wife Petrona Moreno and their five children Lira, Divina, León Julio, Cielo and Hugo. Some of his belongings, his mortal remains and those of his wife are preserved in the place. In it, Julio Flórez received the coronation as National Poet on January 14, 1923, recognition made by the President of the Republic Dr. Pedro Nel Ospina for his invaluable contribution to national letters. In 2002 it was elevated to the category of Cultural Heritage of the department of Atlántico, and in February 2007 it was elevated to the rank of National Monument.
