The city, whose entire extension is known, has only been partially brought to light through archaeological excavations. Bordered by imposing walls, it exhibits the main buildings along the Roman cardo line: to the north is the temple of Athena from around 500. B.C. The public area extends in the center, dating back to two distinct periods: the Ecclesiasterion of the 5th century BC overlooked the agora of the Greek city. and an important building in the shape of a chapel. The Roman city, on the other hand, had its forum here, with the comitium (for assembly meetings), the temple of the Capitoline Triad (Capitolium), the basilica; behind the forum stood the amphitheater and a Hellenistic gymnasium with a large swimming pool. To the south was the large urban sanctuary of Hera, with two magnificent temples dedicated to the goddess, the so-called "Basilica", dating back to around 540. BC, and the one called "of Neptune", from 460 BC
