Itinerary
Day 1 - Waterfalls, Ziplines & Treehouses
We arrive at the village of Ban Nong Luang from Pakse 24 hours
We arrive at the village of Ban Nong Luang from Pakse. After the safety instructions from our experts, we start to hike through coffee plantations and vegetable gardens until wild semi-evergreen forest gradually takes over. The guide explains the plants that are traditionally used in the village kitchen or as herbal medicine. The challenge starts with a breathtaking canopy walkway crossing a steep river valley. You may make your way through some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bolaven Plateau to reach the giant ‘Kamet’ fall. Here is where the ziplines start and the real thrill takes. We then enjoy a lunch break in the wilderness, with a chance of a cooling swim, before mastering the unbelievable zip-line circuit to truly become one with nature, a memory for the lifetime of flying over the majestic waterfall’s valley! We finally settle for the night with delicious local food and BBQ dinner, we retire into our own tree house almost 10m above the ground (only accessible by a zipline).
Day 2 - Zipline & Via Ferrata Over the Valley
We wake up amidst the sounds of the... 10 hours
We wake up amidst the sounds of the innumerable birds in the dense canopy around us. A delicious breakfast prepares for an easy 30-minute trek through the great forest before reaching the first cable of the day. Be ready for extended flights through the jungle (the longest zipline is 400m). It's infinity feeling and the proximity to the invisible upper stratum of the forest is an unforgettable experience. Then we slowly trek uphill, passing a section of forest where gigantic trees dominate. The trail ends at a steep rock wall that will draw our next challenge. Enjoy a short but thrilling via Ferrata to reach the top. Once at the top of one of the highest peaks in the area, an open plateau rewards with stunning views of three waterfalls and vistas over the Mekong deep into neighboring Thailand. We take our lunch here before an easy 1.5-hour hike back to Ban Nong Luang, where a car is waiting to bring us to Pakse along one of the greatest memories grabbed across two precious days.
