The journey to the Valdes Peninsula takes about... 2 hours
The journey to the Valdes Peninsula takes about 1 hour to the first stop, crossing Patagonian steppe landscapes. You will make a stop at “El Desempeño” (entrance fee is not included in the tour price). Then, you will enter the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center, an educational and panoramic stop where you can observe the skeleton of a southern right whale, informative panels on the fauna, flora and geography of the peninsula, and also access the viewpoint. From there, you can simultaneously see the New Gulf, the San Jose Gulf and Bird Island. The total time includes one hour transfer from the city plus the visit to the Visitor Center.

It is the only village on the peninsula and the starting point for boarded whale watching (optional and at extra cost). If you don’t make the sighting, you can tour the village, the beach and the souvenir shops. Restaurants, bars and confectioneries are available for self-catering.
