Later we'll cross Colombo road and drive through the Main Street to enter the Negombo Town. then we will tour the town to discover the street markets. This is our opportunity to feel the the town vibes of Negombo AKA the little Rome.
We will explore the cultural stretch of the... 30 minutes
We will explore the cultural stretch of the Sea Street; You will drive along the Dutch Canal to enter the Sea Street. There are few prominent Roman Catholic churches and Hindu shrines along the sea street and a community that speaks mostly Tamil . We can also visit the Hindu shrine. Sea street is full of life! The temple flower stalls and fruit tables with temple coconuts are very unique.

We will visit the magnificent St. Mary’s Church, it is a historical church with very special roof paintings by local painters. The church is popular for the murals and impressive colonial architecture.

Negombo had the 03rd largest Fort during the Colonial era. Today we have an intact wall and a watch tower that dates back to the 17th Century and the prison built with the bricks of the fort by the English. Later we will take the opportunity to visit the public fish market.

We will pass 'Lellama'; the whole sale fish market and go to visit the Fishermen's church. There is also a local bathing place in close proximity; It's a fun place for the locals.
