Every object displayed in the museum reflects the immense wealth of the Churches of Goa. An interesting aspect of the collection is that many were made by local Hindu artists! During the Portuguese times, the demand for the religious artwork was extremely high and the exhibits could not be shipped from Portugal. To make up for the demand, Hindu artists were contracted to complete the religious artworks.

The collection of exhibits range from prehistoric and early historic period to the late mediaeval period.
