Start your full-day tour with pickup at your hotel in Lanzhou city and meet your guide aboard an air-conditioned private vehicle. It’s a 3 hour drive to Wuwei. Your tour guide will explain the related histories and stories. Free free to ask questions if you have. Your first stop in Wuwei is Tianti Grottoes. With a history over 1,500 years, Tianti Grottoes was constructed based on the natural caves. Now, there are 3 layers’ grottoes existed with 17 shine and over 100 Buddha’s statues. Follow your tour guide to check out the massive 15m-high Shakyamuni Buddha from varying vantages.
After lunch, you will explore Leitai Park and Han Tombs Museum 1 hour
After lunch, you will explore Leitai Park and Han Tombs Museum. Stroll around Leitai Park, then heading to Han Tombs Museum. The Han Tombs was discovered by local famers under an old locust tree in 1969. It is famous for the Bronze Flying Horse unearthed in the tomb which is a cultural treasure and also the tourism logo of China. Follow your tour guide to explore the 2000-year-old tomb, learn the histories and stories behind.
Next stop is Luoshi Pagoda 1 hour
Next stop is Luoshi Pagoda. This 12-storey pagoda was built between AD 384~403, it was built to dedicated to Kumarajiva, the great translator of Buddhist sutras who lived here for 17 years and whose tongue was buried beneath the pagoda. After the tour, you can choose to finish your tour in Wuwei or travel back to your hotel in Lanzhou with your guide in the private car.
