The legendary Lake Sevan is the largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the most visited attractions in Armenia. Located in the Gegharkunik region, at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level. On the peninsula, on a high hill, located famous Sevanavank Monastery, built in 874, by Princess Mariam. Climbing the hill, you will have a great opportunity to explore the ancient Monastery complex and take really fantastic photos on the background of a magnificent lake. Also on the top of the hill are a small botanical garden and an observation deck, which creates a landscape, as if you are standing in the center of Sevan.
Hayravank Monastery was built in the 9th century... 30 minutes
Hayravank Monastery was built in the 9th century and located on the shore of Sevan, on a hilly slope. Not far from the Monastery is located the White Fortress, which, according to legend, was connected by a secret tunnel with Hayravank. The Monastery complex is a prime example of Armenian cross-domed architecture. From the top of the hills opening a fantastic landscape onto the lake, where you will have a great opportunity to take fabulous photos for memory.

The last attraction of our beautiful excursion is the Noratus Khachkar's Cemetery, which is located in the same name village and is the largest cluster of these unique Armenian sculptures in the world (about 1000 Khachkars). The most ancient Khachkars (translated as Cross-stones) date back to the 10th century AD. One of these oldest sculptures was presented to the British Museum in 1978 and Khachkars are still have a great interest to all over the world. It is a comfortable place to explore history, architecture and outdoor walks.
