A scene carved from the lintel of its peak, 55 m high, depicts a figure in an elaborate jaguar suit, believed to be the ruler Dark Sun. Mundo Perdido has 37 structures spread over an area of 60,000 square meters. It is known to be the largest ceremonial complex in Tikal and dates back to around the preclassical period. The constructive history of the Astronomical Commemoration Complex was in the Late Eb phase between 700-600 BC. Some records indicate that this square was organized as an astronomical complex. Which in turn is formed by a pyramid aligned with a platform located in an easterly direction. Part of this building consisted of these temples being used for stargazing. This method was used by the Maya to keep track of the passage of time, according to the astronomical methods they used.
