In addition to providing a fascinating scenario for guiding you through Brazil's history, the trail is also surrounded by Atlantic Forest. The guide will also talk you about this 'forgotten' forest and point out many trees and plants, some of which are edible! Please note that the Gold Trail is only accessible when accompanied by local state registered tour guide.
