Depart after breakfast to Kumasi with a stop to at Ejisu Besease to visit an Ashanti ancestral shrine to explore the beliefs, history and bravery of the Ashantis. The Shrine was built around 1850 and is one of the few remaining examples of traditional Ashanti architecture. Drive past several scenic villages with fine examples of traditional Ghanaian building. Visit a few Ashanti craft villages to observe craftsmen at work and to purchase souvenir gift items from the wide assortment of handicrafts on sale. This is a unique opportunity to purchase souvenirs or gifts. Arrive in Kumasi by late afternoon and rest of day is free to relax in your hotel.

After breakfast, go on a city tour of Kumasi visiting the Manhyia Palace Museum. The Museum was built by the British in 1925 to receive Asantehene (ruler of the Ashanti people) Prempeh I when he returned from exile in the Seychelles to resume residence in Kumasi. It now serves as a museum. Continue to visit the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and the Okomfo Anokye Sword. Drive past Kumasi Central Market, one of the largest open-air markets in West Africa.

In the morning, we will visit the Elmina Castle; a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1482 by the Portugese. This castle was the first European structure built in sub-Saharan Africa. Continue to visit Cape Coast Castle which houses the West Africa Historical Museum for a guided tour. Cape Coast Castle is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was built in 1652 by the Swedes. The castle is home to the infamous "Door of No Return". In the afternoon, attend a cooking workshop, after which you will be able to impress your friends and family for years to come with the traditional recipes you will learn. You will learn to make fufu, ground nut soup, red- red, and palava sauce. Sample some of Ghana’s most popular foods. *NOTE: All dishes are made with purified water.

Depart Elmina after breakfast to visit the Kakum National Park. Go on a morning walk of the “Kuntan Trail” with its countless trees with medicinal properties. For the young at heart experience the “Canopy Walkway” suspended 100 feet from the forest ground for a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest. Depart for on a scenic drive to Accra, Ghana’s capital city. Stop briefly at the village of Abandze, the ancestral home of Louis Armstrong, the famous American jazz musician. Arrive in Accra by afternoon and rest of day is free for last minute shopping.
