You start your tour from the main entrance, you will walk 1 hour with 30 minutes to reach the top of the volcano where you will have breathtaking views of Lake Coatepeque, Santa Ana volcano crater, Cerro verde national park and Izalco volcano among other places near the west of El Salvador (the view will depend on the weather at the top of the volcano).
