In the morning after breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and take you straight to visit Kivukoni Fish Market. This is the busiest fish market in Dar-es-Salaam where most fishermen come after their fishing expedition to sell their catch in wholesale. You will see red snapper, lobster, prawns, squid, barracuda and shellfish fresh from the Indian Ocean. You can buy corrie shells that are found along the Tanzania Indian ocean coastline.

After leaving Kivukoni Fish Market you’ll see the Ocean Road Hospital and the State House. You will have a chance to visit the nearby Botanical Garden which was established a hundred years ago by Germans. Opposite the garden is Karimjee Hall and you’ll be able to see the fantastic architecture while your guide explains the history behind the building. Today the Botanical Gardens feature a wonderful selection of indigenous plants, including purple bougainvillea, blue jacaranda, scarlet flame trees and red hibiscus as well as the coco-de-mer palm tree, native to Seychelles.
