Tour Itinerary
We will take the motorway and about 10:15am... 1 hour
We will take the motorway and about 10:15am we are going to arrive in Calella de Palafrugell, a small fisherman’s village that still retains today the traditional appearance of the past. It is a village of great beauty in both architecture and landscape. The town, splashed with small bays, becomes a fusion of land and sea that is an incomparable setting. We will have free time to explore the village, enjoy the scenery and for sure, take great photographs.
About 11:15am, we will start walking along Camino... 2 hours
About 11:15am, we will start walking along Camino de Ronda, which is going to lead us to the neighborhood town of Llafranc. We will hike about 30 minutes, suitable for all ages, easy terrain for everyone. The “Camino de Ronda” borders all the Costa Brava and was used to control the maritime smuggling. Today, thanks to this, you can discover beautiful spots that wouldn’t be otherwise accessible. Llafranc is also a small, elegant and captivating seaside town, with all the delightfulness of the towns on this coast. You will have free time for lunch and taste the typical fishermen’s cuisine of this area. If you wish, you may also go for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea at its splendid beach.
Our next visit will be Begur, a town... 45 minutes
Our next visit will be Begur, a town with elegant mansions located beneath an old castle and famous for its “Indian Houses”. The so-called “Indians” were the town’s inhabitants who immigrated to America in the 18th century; they made a fortune and upon their retirement, they returned and built these elegant mansions. As you stroll along its streets, you will discover this uniquely beautiful architecture which features a unique blend of Mediterranean and Caribbean styles.
Peratallada, declared a Historical-Artistic Site and Cultural Asset... 1 hour
Peratallada, declared a Historical-Artistic Site and Cultural Asset of National Interest, is one of the most outstanding examples of the country’s medieval architecture. You will be amazed by its peculiar location on top of a rock, as well as the spectacular moat excavated inside it, which surrounds the town. Upon arrival, we will take a stroll through its narrow winding streets, discover its original castle-palace, its exceptional fortification system and its stone houses whose streets have been virtually unchanged by the passage of time.
The last stop will be Pals, declared Cultural... 1 hour
The last stop will be Pals, declared Cultural Asset of National Interest, a town located inland and on top of a hill. The village is built entirely in an integrated medieval site. At the top, there is a cylindrical tower from the 12th century, which is visible from far away. It has an excellent terrace that offers stunning views of the Costa Brava and surroundings. Walking through the cobbled streets, you will feel like you have gone back in time. Take time to appreciate the round arches, facades with pointed window arches, stone balconies, all perfectly restored. At 18:00 the tour is finished and we go back to Barcelona, where we shall arrive at around 20:00.
