They were initiated by Friedrich Alfred Krupp, the... 1 hour
They were initiated by Friedrich Alfred Krupp, the German steel industrialist who bought some properties on the island at the beginning of the twentieth century, with the intention - which he did not realize - of building a villa there. Known as Krupp gardens until 1918, after the First World War they were renamed gardens of Augustus by the city administration, in honor of the first Roman emperor. They constitute a true botanical garden that houses various specimens of the island's flora, with ornamental and non-ornamental plants. To the botanical beauties, we associate a very wide panorama on the main beauties of the landscape of Capri. In fact, you can get a 180-degree view of the island of Capri, with views of Mount Solaro, the bay of Marina Piccola, via Krupp and the famous faraglioni.

The faraglioni of Capri are three rocky peaks positioned to the south-east of the homonymous island, famous all over the world thanks to the evocative and historical overview offered by the gardens of Augustus. These emergencies are identified with three distinct names: the first (joined to the mainland) is the Faraglione di Terra; the second, separated from the first by the sea, is that of Mezzo; while the third, reaching out towards the sea, is the Faraglione di Fuori. The latter is very well known as it is the only habitat of the famous blue lizard.
The square, located on the edge of the... 10 minutes
The square, located on the edge of the historic center of Capri, once housed the ancient local market; today it is the center of the social life of the island and is often called a «living room of the world», so much so that it is often compared to squares such as the Rossio of Lisbon or the Venetian San Marco.
