About This Tour in San Francisco

The Painted Ladies are known worldwide from photos, guidebooks, film and TV shows such as "Full House". For locals, they are a cherished symbol of our city and our history. These are all private homes and are rarely open for viewing. The blue painted lady is one of the most original and preserved of the seven homes in this row. The interior reflects almost 174 years of this family's history in the city. It is not a recreation of an 1890s home, nor is it the tour meant as an inspiration for home décor or design. We hope guests find the period furnishings and paintings harmonious and the stories engaging.

Getting to San Francisco

We accept single reservations- . However, there must be at least 2 guests per tour.
No photos or videos inside the home. Host will send you pics of the house and your group as an extra
Guests must commit to the full 90 minutes tour- (host cannot leave the tour to see you out)
Please No latecomers. After 5 minutes the tour moves from the steps inside...Tour is then closed.
Visitors must be able to do about 45 stairs in the one hour. Additionally, there are not always places to sit. Choose accordingly by your ability. This is a private home.

The "Painted Ladies" are also known as "the 7 Sisters" and sometimes ""Postcard Row". The tour is of the home second from right.

We have a 23 year + history of entertaining touring Broadway casts of actors, musicians and crews

The house is 131 years old (2025), but the interiors reflect 176 of the owner's family possessions in San Francisco. The bust is from 1874, a copy of "the Dance" at the Paris Opera Garnier

For any guest who wishes, our Golden, Elsa, will join our guests on their tour. (optional). Sorry to say, but our beloved Torbjörn crossed the rainbow bridge April 2025

About 6 days a year, the blue painted lady, (only), gets the spotlight

For guests who wish to participate- Photos are taken of each group on the front stairs and at the end of the tour, with our two Goldens: Elsa and Torbjörn

At some points during the day- about 30 rainbows shine from most every corner of the triple parlors.

The Blue Painted Lady has several magical light effects- some emanate from this art glass window

The first floor can open as if one large room or be shut off into three rooms by the pocket doors

We frequently host chamber concerts in our parlors. Many of our tour guests have bought tickets to intend these gorgeous Concerts by Insight Chamber Players

The 2 front parlors and the dining room open on to each other. Morning sun and evening sun shine through each floor
