The lodge is located on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, 15 km southwest of Puerto Maldonado, within the Tambopata National Reserve. The guide will meet you at the Puerto Maldonado airport and take you to the city (15 minutes). After a brief stop at the office, you'll board a boat for a 60-minute trip along the river to the lodge. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed with fresh fruit juice, leave your luggage in your room, and then lunch will be served.

After a short rest, you’ll head to the famous Monkey Island, located across the Madre de Dios River. Here, you’ll encounter various monkey species, including the brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, marmoset, and white capuchin. After this excursion, you’ll return to the lodge.

As night falls and before dinner, you’ll set out to spot caimans (don’t forget to bring a flashlight). They’re often found along the banks of the Madre de Dios River, and with some luck, you might also see a capybara—the world’s largest rodent, weighing up to 6 kilos. Afterward, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and rest in preparation for the next day’s adventure.
Sandoval Lake - Tambopata National Reserve

Today begins early! After breakfast, you’ll take a short boat ride to the entrance of Sandoval Lake. Upon arrival at the checkpoint, you’ll hike 3 km through the jungle to enter the Tambopata National Reserve. Then, you’ll board a boat to explore Sandoval Lake, observing monkeys, birds, towering trees, and other local wildlife. You might even spot a family of giant otters. You’ll return to the lodge afterward to enjoy a delicious traditional meal.

In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a night walk to observe the variety of insects, amphibians, and nocturnal reptiles. Afterward, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner, where you can relax, enjoy a drink at the bar, and soak in the ambiance of the jungle night. Then, it’s time to rest and recharge for your final day.

We’ll start early, heading out at 5:30 a.m. to explore the jungle in the morning light. You’ll cross the Canopy Walkway, an impressive hanging bridge 30 meters above the ground, offering a unique perspective of the rainforest. From here, you’ll have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River and can take in the beauty of the forest from above. There’s also a platform where you can spot various bird species, including toucans and macaws.
