Picked up at your hotel in Tórshavn. From there you can sit down and relax while the local tour guide happily shares knowledge about the beautiful sights you see along the journey. On the tour, we will stop to see sights such places as Leitisvatn, Bøur, Tindhólmur, Drangarnir, and the most popular waterfall of them all, Múlafossur. The tour starts with a 45-minute drive to Sørvágur. From there we will drive to the village of Bøur, often referred to as the village in the Faroe Islands with the best view. We will take a stroll through the picturesque village and hear some history. From Bøur you will see the free-standing rocks named Dranganir and the amazing islet of Tindhólmur. After Bøur we will drive through the only tunnel on the island to the distant and previously very isolated village of Gásadalur. Here we will take a walk to the most photographed waterfall in the Faroes, Múlafossur. From Gásadalur we will drive past Leitisvatn, the largest freshwater lake on the islands.

See places like Saksun, Tjørnuvík, Gjógv, Risin & Kellingin and Fossá in one day. This is a day you will never forget. After driving over the old mountain road out of Tórshavn we will come to the unique settlement of Saksun. Next, we will head to Tjørnuvík. The route will take us through the valley from Saksun with ever-changing scenery along the Dalsá river with many small waterfalls. Before reaching Tjørnuvík we will stop by Fossá waterfall, which is the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands. Tjørnuvík is the northernmost settlement on Streymoy island and is situated in an isolated inlet with towering mountains and a beautiful black sand beach. From the beach there is a fantastic view of the sea stacks Risin & Kellingin (The Giant and the Hag). Upon arrival to Eysturoy island, we will experience the view from the road beneath Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands. From there picturesque Gjógv on the northernmost tip of Eysturoy island.

Strendur is connected to Runavík and Tórshavn through the longest underwater tunnel in the Faroe Islands: Eysturoyartunnilin. Eysturoyartunnilin is known for its underwater roundabout, which is the first of its kind in the world. The entrance to the tunnel is by the seaside in Strendur. In Sterndur we will visit Snældan – SNÆLDAN is a Faroese yarn company and here it will be possible to buy Faroese knitwear and yarn made at the local factory. We drive north through Skálafjørð and up to the tunnel that goes over to Sundalagið, you have the opportunity to walk over the bridge from Eysturoy to Streymoy. We drive to Tórshavn, we walk through the old part of Tórshavn, and than to Kirkjubø the southernmost village on Streymoy where we can see the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral from around 1300, the Saint Olav’s Church from 12th century and the old farmhouse Kirkjubøargarður from 11th century. From Tórshavn we pass the old whale station at Áir and continue to Toftir. In Toftir we see the wonderful Fríðrik church, and Navia where it is possible to buy Faroese knitting goods. From there we continue to the windmills where we get a spectacular view, eventually, we drive to the old village of Gøta. This experience starts with a drive through the sub-sea tunnel between Tórshavn and Runavík, this is the sub-sea tunnel with a roundabout, so hopefully we take the right turn out of it. Our first stop is in the beautiful village Æðuvík, where you can walk so close to the sea that you can almost touch it. In Æðuvík the locals see the sun rise from the ocean all year round. Driving from Æðuvík to Eystnes. We take a photo stop at the wind turbines on Eystnes. We are driving from the windmills to Navia. We visit Navia, who sells Faroese knit clothes of all sorts, for both kids and adults. From Navia, we drive past the new church in Gøtugjógv, and we drive on to The old village of Gøta.

There we will see a few landmarks and enjoy some stunning scenery. This is sure to be a day you will not forget anytime soon. NOTE: You can add the hiking to Kallur Lighthouse in this booking. In case you choose this you will miss the visit to the Seal Woman in Mikladalur.
