Pick up time may vary according to your schedule 24 hours
Pick up time may vary according to your schedule. You will be picked up at any hotel or resort in the Maun area where you will meet your ranger and guide who explain the day’s activities to you. After the briefing you will make your way to the World-renowned Moremi game reserve where your safari will begin. Some light snacks will be served shortly after entering Moremi. Thereafter you will continue with your exciting adventure while your game ranger uses his exceptional skills to interpret wildlife to you in a unique way. After a long and usually tiring but always exciting day you will make your way late in the afternoon to your beautifully lantern lit campsite where you will meet the rest of the camping team, often getting the smell of your freshly being prepared traditional dinner as you approach. Sit around the open fire and absorb the magnificence around you while enjoying a delicious meal and glass of wine while listening to the calls of the night.
Full Day in the Delta
Rising at the crisp and crack of dawn... 24 hours
Rising at the crisp and crack of dawn you will wake up to the sounds of birdcalls, as you step out of your tent you will be greeted by friendly faces and a freshly brewed cup of tea or coffee, You will have some time to refresh while your hearty breakfast is made. An essential part to your long day ahead! After a few hours you will stop at one of the boat stations and meet your river guide who will take you on a 2 hour Mokoro safari in the north eastern part of the Okavango Delta. Upon returning you will continue your safari and make your way to several places of interest within the reserve such as major floodplains, waterholes, breeding areas for large animal herds etc. Enjoy the night ahead back at your campsite and listen to the traditional stories and beliefs of the local Botswana people often breaking into dance and song.
Heading to Savuti
On this day we will continue north to... 24 hours
On this day we will continue north to Savuti, home to some of the most notorious male lions and lion prides in Africa. A unique gene pool boasting massive lion genetics. As well as very large spotted hyena packs. This is where the multiple award winning documentary “eternal enemies” was filmed showing the rivalry between Africa’s two largest predators.
Returning to Maun
Your ranger will speak to you and determine... 6 hours
Your ranger will speak to you and determine what you would still like to experience and what animals you would still like to encounter so that he could make a conscious effort in doing so. Any special interests and photographic requests will be catered for. At around mid day you will slowly be making your way back to your Lodge, resort or airport.
