Arrival in Goma and Transfer to Kibumba tented camp
We suggest you arrive early in the morning around 09 20 hours
We suggest you arrive early in the morning around 09.00 am, we facilitate you crossing the border and help in getting gorilla and volcano permits and then Transfer to Kibumba for Gorilla and Nyiragongo Trekking. You are going to enjoy a life-changing experience with the gorillas and watch the world’s largest active lava lake. In Virunga, we offer 3 nights, 4 days; the first two days we do Gorilla trek in Kibumba and then a trek on Nyiragongo Volcano the third day. 1.00pm: Departure for Kibumba Tented Camp for the first overnight.
Gorilla Trekking
Morning: After Breakfast and briefing, with help of... 40 hours
Morning: After Breakfast and briefing, with help of ranger’s guide we will have 1 to 2.5 hours trekking on the group of Gorillas in the Park. Late Afternoon: A lunch will be offered, then follows a nature walk and bird watching.
Nyiragongo Hiking
Morning: After breakfast we leave Kibumba for Kibati Ranger Post at 8 24 hours
Morning: After breakfast we leave Kibumba for Kibati Ranger Post at 8.15am, the departure points for the Nyiragongo trek. After a short briefing, we embark on a 4 to 6 hours hike (depending on the slowest person in the group). We spend the night here. The view is incredible and the lava lake is very impressive.
