After just 3hours we arrive in the small town of Otjiwarongo where we can collect any last minute supplies, drinks & snacks etc, before continuing on to Etosha National Park

Arriving at Ombika Gate around 2pm, spend the... 16 hours

Arriving at Ombika Gate around 2pm, spend the rest of the afternoon game driving through to our accommodation inside Etosha Accommodation is in twin share rooms, and we highly recommend spending time at the floodlit waterhole before and after dinner.

Full day game driving in Etosha National Park

Morning game drives takes you out into the park searching for predators 2 hours

Morning game drives takes you out into the park searching for predators. A mid morning game drive takes you through to the Etosha Pan where we can see where the park gets it's name. Duration: 2 hours

After lunch at a picnic site near the pan, we head out for our final game drive, heading back towards Okaukuejo, and exit the park just before sunset, driving through to our lodge for the evening, Etosha Village.

Travelling via Damaraland to Swakopmund

Today is a long day in the vehicle travelling through rural Namibia. Our journey takes us through Damaraland where we have the chance to meet the Damara people where we can support them at their small pop up shop, as well as get to know them in their local environment.

Just before we reach Uis, we stop at a small Himba settlement 30 minutes

Just before we reach Uis, we stop at a small Himba settlement. Here we can enjoy a short tour through their village and get to know a little more about what makes the Himba people so unique. On arrival in Uis we make a short stop to resupply cold drinks and have a quick bathroom break before continuing our journey across the desert.

We then make our way across the plains of the Namib Desert, through the the coast where we make a stop at the Zeila Shipwreck.

We arrive in Swakopmund late afternoon where we... 16 hours

We arrive in Swakopmund late afternoon where we will check into our accommodation at Hotel A La Mer, located just across the road from the beach as well as some of Swakopmund's top restaurants. Dinner tonight is at own expense.

Travelling to Walvis Bay then to Windhoek

Leisurely breakfast and the option to join one... 30 minutes

Leisurely breakfast and the option to join one of the many optional activities available here such as: quad biking and sand boarding best fit with this itinerary. For those interested in birds our driver will be happy to take you to Walvis Bay to see the flamingos in the Walvis Bay lagoon which is a protected RAMSAR Site for birds.

From Walvis bay, we start the journey back to Windhoek 30 minutes

From Walvis bay, we start the journey back to Windhoek. As we travel back we will see the Spitzkoppe in the distance, Namibia's very own matterhorn. Spitzkoppe is home to a population of Damara people that make their living from the small scale mining of semi-precious stones. Time permitting we can stop at their small crystal market and have the chance to learn more about how they mine, and what treasures can be found in the mountain. We make a brief stop at the Okahandja woodcarvers market on our return to Windhoek. Here you need to make use of your bargaining skills if you want to purchase some hand made souvenirs. We arrive back in Windhoek late afternoon returning to Chameleon Backpackers. Those staying elsewhere will be dropped at their accommodation.
