Fly Addis Abeba to Axum
Day 1: Arrival in Axum 6 hours
Day 1: Arrival in Axum. Morning: Arrive in Axum, one of Ethiopia's oldest and most historically significant cities. Visit the Axum Obelisks, ancient monolithic stone structures dating back to the Aksumite Empire. Afternoon: Explore the archaeological sites of Axum, including the ruins of ancient palaces, tombs, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion, believed to house the Ark of the Covenant. Evening: Enjoy dinner in Axum and rest for the night at a local hotel.

Day 2: Axum to Hawzen via Yeha and... 8 hours
Day 2: Axum to Hawzen via Yeha and Debre Damo After breakfast, drive to the ruins of Yeha, believed to be the capital of ancient Ethiopian civilization. Then, visit Debre Damo monastery, accessible only to men who must climb a 15-meter rope to enter. Overnight is at Hawzen.
