Almaty city - Basshy village - Altyn-Emel National Park (Singing Dune)
We will start our trip in the morning to reach Basshy village at noon 3 hours
We will start our trip in the morning to reach Basshy village at noon. Basshy village is a base point for both natural sights of Altyn-Emel National Park. After a nice lunch at the guest house we will visit Singing Dune. This place is a natural phenomenon. In the middle of the steppe there is a huge sand dune. It looks like somebody moved it from Sahara desert. And when people slide down the dune it really sings! You will have free time to hike the dune and enjoy local natural beauty. On the way there is a chance to see animals which inhabit this reserve area. Some of them are in the Red List. Mountain sheep, gazelle, Przewalski's horse, saiga, stork, golden eagle, crane, etc.

Altyn Emel National Park is one of the most diverse national parks in Kazakhstan. And it has this atmosphere of untouched ancient nature as well. Although most of the territory in the park are martian landscapes, there is also an Ili river with fresh mountain waters. During your time in Altyn-Emel you will visit the Singing Dune, Aktau Mountains and an ancient willow tree

After breakfast we will go to colorful Aktau chalk mountains in the Altyn Emel National Park. Scientists consider theory that this place was the bottom of ancient Tetis ocean. And you can really believe it. Astonishing picturesque landscapes look like some other planet's surface. Different mountains of all bright colors are presented here. From snow white to saturated red. There is a path along the bottom of dry river where you can walk and explore the gorge. You will have an outside picnic lunch here.
On the way to Aktau Mountains you will... 30 minutes
On the way to Aktau Mountains you will stop at another local sight - an oasis with the ancient willow-tree. There is a fresh water spring here as well.
Basshy village - Saty village - Kolsai Lake

After nice breakfast at the guesthouse, we will move to Saty village area by a picturesque road with great views. On the way, you will stop at the Charyn Canyon panorama view point.

Kolsai is an astonishing mountain lake with pristine water. You will have free time to relax and enjoy this place. Kolsai lakes are the chain of 3 mountain lakes separated by coniferous forests and fast rivers. There is a beautiful mountain trail with amazing views which connects them. You can explore the first and the biggest Kolsai Lake enjoying coniferous mountain forests, alpine flower fields and fresh river. Boat riding on the lake and horse riding activities are available here.

On the last day of the tour we will go to the Kaindy lake. This is one of the most unique lakes in the world with ancient spruces that rise above the water surface. Formed as a result of the earthquake in 1911 this place became such a delightful phenomenon. The water in the lake changes its colors depending on the season. All of them are just amazing. From transparent light blue to rich emerald green.
