The legend tells that the history of Mont-Saint-Michel begins in 708, after the archangel Michael appeared to Bishop Aubert the Bishop of Avranches three times in a dream and asked him to build a sanctuary in his name. In 966, a community of Benedictines settled and constructed a first church. The place then became a major pilgrimage destination in Medieval France. Once arrived at the islet, enjoy your tickets for the museum and tour the village with your guide: see the Abbey, churches and castles of the Mont-Saint-Michel.
